Music | Thom Yorke_Hearing Damage

(...) And you can do no wrong
In my eyes
In my eyes
You can do no wrong
In my eyes
In my eyes

A drunken salesman
Your hearing damage
Your mind is restless
They say you're getting better
But you don't feel any better

Your speakers are blowing
Your ears are wrecking
Your hearing damage
You wish you felt better
You wish you felt better (...)

Architecture | The Ideal house_by Zaha Hadid

Zaha Hadid approached this cube as a huge block to be hollowed out and morphed into a charming sequence of rooms that lead into one another and also open up wide to the outside. Compared to the more open structures of fukasawa’s project, hadid’s ideal house retains the traditional form of the home as a unit and protective shell. The two-story structure has no roof, the walls and furniture appear to grow directly out of a floor that in some cases is totally uneven, and the ceiling is an arched sky.

Architecture |Leeser Architecture_ Helix Hotel_ Abu Dhabi

American design firm, Leeser Architecture recently won an invited competition for a five-star luxury hotel in the Zayed Bay in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Called the Helix Hotel for its staggered floor plates, it rests in the bay, partially floating in the water.With 208 guest rooms and suites arranged around a helical floor, the floor constantly shifts as it rises to the top floor. The curvy floor is meant to resemble winding street in a bustling town. It is designed so that one activity feeds into the next rather than affecting sharp separations between each activity. In this way it develops a feeling of being free to whimsically experience all aspects of the hotel without having to decide on an agenda in advance. Guests can take advantage of the lounges, cafes, meeting rooms, indoor health spa, running track and indoor fountain.
In cooperation with environmental design consultants at Atelier Ten, the Helix Hotel will maximize use of local natural resources likes sun, wind, and ocean water. GROW panels made from 100% recyclable polyethylene will be installed on the exterior and will collect energy from both the sun and the wind. Interior temperatures will be managed by a cascading ocean-fed waterfall in the atrium that will help maintain interior climate and humidity levels, while a retractable glass wall will open up to cool sea breezes that constantly circulate fresh air.

A Country Path in Late Spring _ Mark R Slaughter

" (...)The path of mossy ground nestled
In between maternal hedgerows,
That overgrew atop, dimming out
The brilliance of the day.
Embosomed, a calm-cool vision –
Abstract takes of nature, in
Leaf-spattered green shades;
Stem-speckled brown hues;
Shards of sunlight percolating
Through the random flaws to
Up glittering sprites upon the leaves. (...) "
